We are seeking an experienced proofreader for a 6-month contract.

 

The role of the proofreading department is to ensure that typeset proofs are checked to the highest standards following customers’ specifications.

 

Candidates should have experience of checking publishers’ house styles and making sure that design specifications are strictly adhered to. The role also entails proofreading customers’ revised proofs in the event of further corrections or style amendments being made, and checking final proofs of books before approving to be sent to press. Some experience of working with digital mark-up would be advantageous.

Salary will be dependent on experience. We are currently working from home and expect to offer a hybrid model in the future but all candidates must be able to work from our Falkirk office when necessary.

 

The contract is based on a 30-39 hr week and, although we can offer flexible hours, candidates must be available to work Monday-Friday.
